"Ian Cognito is angry, but it's nothing personal. Offstage, he's a bit of a pussycat, but it would be an awful shame if he ever let his sit-down bonhomie dilute his stand-up fury. Because this Italian Irish East Ender is raging with dreadful eloquence against the dying of his Light Ent dreams, and the results are strangely exhilarating to behold. Cognito is pissed off about virtually everything you can think of, in the way the best alternative comedy used to be, and the way it still would be, if a few more comics had half Cognito's balls. He doesn't care about TV, movies, agents or awards. All he cares about is being up behind the mike, and that’s what makes him such a riveting invigorating stand-up."
